Formal consultation of MMO Margate and Long Sands European Marine Site (Specified Areas) Bottom Towed Fishing Gear Byelaw 2016
Results updated 6 Dec 2017
Thank you everyone for taking part in our recent consultation on the proposed byelaw to protect Margate and Long Sands EMS.
After the ten week formal consultation period that closed in December 2016, a second targeted consultation was conducted. This allowed MMO to respond directly to stakeholders that contacted MMO during formal consultation. The second consultation period informed stakeholders of the changes to the byelaw that MMO had made in response to comments from formal consultation.
Having considered the responses received, we have published an updated byelaw and impact assessment and a decision document: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/marine-conservation-plans.
The byelaw is currently with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consideration.
