Overview
The Leasowes Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is located in Dudley in the West Midlands, and is notified on 7 February 2019 for its nationally important assemblage of grassland fungi and species-rich neutral grasslands. The SSSI also encompasses the site’s diverse mosaic of semi-natural habitats, including woodland, wood pasture and high value scrub.

What happens next
We are now assessing the response to the consultation and will be making a recommendation to the Board of Natural England in due course. Natural England has to make a decision to either confirm or withdraw this notification by 6 November 2019 or the notification will cease to exist. We will widely promote Natural England's decision.
