Consultation on rules for mobile crushing of lamps that contain mercury

Closed 8 Feb 2016

Opened 14 Dec 2015

Overview

We are seeking views and comments on options for the regulation of mobile lamp crushing, including replacing the T17 exemption with the requirement for an environmental permit.

Why your views matter

We want to know what you think about our proposal to replacing the T17 exemption with the requirement for an environmental permit. This is to ensure that the regulatory requirements and levels of compliance checking for mobile lamp crushing are sufficient for human health and the environment protection, provide a level playing field for businesses involved in lamp recycling and are in line with and provide legal clarity on minimum European requirements.
