Defra and the Welsh Government are seeking your views on proposals to make changes to some of the flood risk exemptions and exclusions in the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016, which has been launched today.

Why your views matter

After two years of applying these regulations, the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales have undertaken an initial review of the exemptions and exclusions and concluded that some small adjustments may be made to some of them to allow more flexibility.
