Improvements to Equine Identification and Traceability in England
Overview
The purpose of this consultation is to seek views on the UK Government's proposals for improving the equine identification and traceability regime in England. Resulting changes made will ensure the system better supports the Government's priorities of animal health and welfare, and protecting public health.
What happens next
The consultation will be open for responses for 12 weeks.
Once the consultation has closed, Defra will then analyse and evaluate the responses in the following 12 weeks and publish a report of the response. Answers provided to the consultation will inform the ultimate direction of changes to Government policy, regulations and guidance.
