Defra are inviting views on proposed amendments to the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 (VSA) regarding the current governance structure of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the statutory regulator of the veterinary profession.

Why your views matter

The purpose of this consultation is to set out the full proposals and seek your views on amendments to the current governance structure of the Council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS); in particular the size and membership criteria of the Council.

The outcome of the consultation will assist in formulating the final proposal that we will then put before Parliament.
