Draft Air Quality Plans

Closed 6 Nov 2015

Opened 12 Sep 2015

Overview

This consultation seeks views on draft plans to improve air quality. The Government’s primary driver for action on air quality is the impact it can have on health and the environment.  A cleaner, healthier environment benefits people and the economy.

The plans set out actions being planned or implemented at local, regional and national levels to meet the annual and hourly EU limit values for nitrogen dioxide in the shortest possible time.

This consultation applies to England, Wales and Northern Ireland. A separate consultation is being carried out by the Scottish Government, commencing 14th September.

This consultation includes the consultation document, the draft UK overview document,  the 38 draft zone plans  and an evidence annex.

Before responding to the questions set out in this consultation, we recommend that you read the draft UK overview document, together with the draft plan(s) for the zone you are particularly interested in.

The 38 zone plans are hosted on Defra’s UK Air website.
